This session addresses two critical areas of the EU Pay Transparency Directive that often present complex challenges for employers: defining worker categories accurately and understanding when joint pay assessments are triggered. Joint pay assessments represent one of the most consequential requirements of the Directive. Panelists will demystify how the 5% threshold is applied, what needs to be considered for workers' category, and what triggers mandatory joint assessments.

Speakers will also walk through realistic scenarios, discuss collaboration with employee representatives, and outline a practical framework to help employers prepare for assessments.

Key topics include:

  • Worker category definitions and member-state variations
  • Understanding the 5% threshold and trigger scenarios
  • The joint pay assessment process
  • Working with employee representatives
  • Practical frameworks for defensible documentation

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Apply the 5% threshold to determine when a joint assessment is required
  • Collaborate effectively with employee representatives during assessments
  • Develop a defensible documentation process to support assessment outcomes

The EU Pay Transparency Virtual Masterclass Series is a six-session program designed for CHROs and senior HR leaders at multinational companies preparing the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
