Elizabeth Cole
Of Counsel, Jones Day Singapore
Elizabeth is Of Counsel at Jones Day in Singapore. She has worked for more than 20 years in Asia-Pacific representing multinationals and Fortune 500 companies, specifically those located in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Singapore.
Her practice encompasses M&A, compliance, data protection, investigations, and employment. She has represented multinationals investing and divesting in Asia from greenfield operations to joint ventures and complex cross-border multijurisdictional acquisitions as well as in a broad range of commercial matters.
She also has assisted clients in reviewing and implementing employment contracts, hiring and firing practices, and workplace and data privacy policies to ensure that they comply with local laws and regulations.
Adam Salter
Partner-in-Charge, Perth & Head of Labor & Employment Practice in Australia, Jones Day
Adam Salter is the Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Perth Office and also heads up the Labor & Employment Practice in Australia.
Adam has more than 25 years of cross-border experience advising clients on Australian employment contracts and policies, industrial instruments (including Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements), termination of employment, redundancy programs, drafting and enforcing post-employment restraints, personal data and privacy security, and transfer of business issues.
Adam also regularly assists clients with data privacy issues relating to the collection, disclosure, and protection of personal information and cybersecurity issues. Additionally, Adam has more than a decade of dedicated experience advising clients on Australian and cross-border private treaty mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, outsourcing and alliances — with a particular focus on the information technology and electronic payment sectors.
Adam is a regular presenter at local and international labor and employment and cybersecurity conferences.
Tristan Seymour
Associate, Jones Day Perth, Australia
Tristan Seymour has in-depth experience working with employers of all sizes on a range of litigious and nonlitigious employment matters. He regularly assists clients with their Australian employment contracts, workplace policies, enterprise agreements, and deeds of settlement and advises on all manner of employment issues, including termination of employment and redundancy scenarios, compliance with modern awards that specify the minimum terms and conditions of employment and the National Employment Standards entitlements, employment disputes, transfers of business, restraints of trade, work health and safety, and underpayment of wages.
Tristan also represents clients defending claims in the Fair Work Commission (FWC), including claims relating to unfair dismissal, general protections, and dispute resolution.
Chatrane Birbal
Senior Vice President, Practice, Policy & Government Relations, CHRO Association
Chatrane Birbal is Senior Vice President, Practice, Policy and Government Relations in the Association’s Arlington, Va. office. In this capacity Ms. Birbal is responsible for leading CHRO Association’s government relations strategy, building relationships with individuals in the U.S. Congress, Administration and regulatory agencies that oversee matters related to large employers and their workforces, including benefits, diversity and inclusion, labor, safety, immigration, and compensation policy.
Ms. Birbal brings nearly 20 years of high-level experience working in government affairs at the federal level. Most recently, she was the vice president, public policy for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). In this role, she was directly engaged in many of the policy issues that impact the workplace and represented SHRM’s membership of over 300,000 individual HR and business executive members.
Prior to SHRM, Ms. Birbal was the director of government relations at the Council on Foundations, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit membership association of 2,000 grant making foundations and corporations, with assets totaling more than $282 billion. Ms. Birbal was also a federal legislative lobbyist at the American Psychiatric Association, a medical specialty society with over 38,000 U.S. and international member physicians who work together to ensure humane care and effective treatment for all persons with mental disorders, including mental illness and substance-related disorders.
Michelle Swinden
Executive Director, Asia-Pacific, HR Policy Global
Michelle Swinden is the Executive Director, Asia-Pacific for CHRO Association, serving as the Association’s contact point for member companies in the Asia Pacific region. Michelle is based in Sydney, Australia. Michelle has more than 25 years of human resources experience in a regional Asia Pacific and global capacity.
Prior to joining HR Policy Global, Michelle worked for the IBM Corporation for more than 30 years. She has extensive experience in the management of Employee and Labour Relations in the Asia environment, as well as a deep understanding of the impact of global labour relations on multinational organisations. During her long career with IBM, Michelle held a variety of roles including Compensation and Benefits Manager for IBM Australia, Diversity and Inclusion Leader, Manager of Employee Concerns & Complex Employee Relations cases for Asia Pacific, and HR Executive for Employee and Labour Relations in Asia Pacific.
Michelle has a special interest in building and delivering enablement and information, allowing HR practitioners across all regions and functions of Human Resources to develop an understanding of the importance of effective employee and labour management. In addition, Michelle actively encourages companies to network and share their experiences, bringing an increased understanding of the challenges and solutions to building strong employee relations environments.
Michelle holds an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of New England, Australia, and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Deakin University, Australia. She is a CAHRI Member of the Australia Human Resources Institute.
Alan Wild
Senior Advisor, Global Employee Relations, CHRO Association
Alan Wild is Senior Advisor, Global Employee Relations to the Washington DC based HR Policy Association and CEO of the consulting company Global Employee Relations Solutions. Alan’s 40-year career in employee relations includes work in the corporate, consulting and intergovernmental world.
Prior to returning to the HR Policy Association Alan was Employee Relations Director for Amazon in Europe and for major operations in the world outside of the US and Canada. At IBM, he was Vice President of Employee Relations and Engagement for the company’s worldwide operations. As a consultant, Alan has worked directly with more than 100 of the Fortune 500 companies in the United States and several major European, Australian, South African and Japanese enterprises. His firm also worked on assignments for the United Nations, The International Labour Organization, the International Red Cross, the European Commission and the Global Fund.
Alan also worked for ten years in the United Nations System, as HR Director and member of the Director General’s senior executive team at the International Labour Organization in Geneva and as CHRO of the International Red Cross.
Alan has lived and worked across many parts of the world — including the UK, USA, Switzerland and Thailand. He is now living in the Cotswolds in England with his wife Motoko and their two grown sons.

Thiru Nagarajan
Vice President of Human Resources, Asia Pacific, IBM Corporation
Thirukkumaran (Thiru) Nagarajan is the Vice President and Head of HR for IBM APAC. He is responsible for the people strategy, leadership, skills, engagement, employee services, and diversity & inclusion of the workforce across the APAC region.
With over 20 years at IBM, Thiru brings deep expertise across market-facing and international leadership roles. In his recent tenure as the VP and Head of Human Resources, IBM India & South Asia, he played a vital role in driving growth across the region—expanding into emerging cities and building impactful skilling partnerships with industry and academia. A strong advocate of IBM’s client zero approach to AI-led HR transformation, Thiru’s leadership has been instrumental in cementing IBM’s position as a Top Employer 2025 in India.
Marina Moon
Foreign Attorney, Kim & Chang
Hee Won (Marina) Moon is a foreign attorney specializing in regulatory compliance, corporate investigations, and white collar criminal defense, with industry expertise in the tech, healthcare, cosmetics, and fashion industries.
Ms. Moon has extensive experience leading teams in corporate investigations and regulatory matters involving a variety of issues, including bribery, embezzlement, fraud, data privacy, sexual harassment/workplace bullying, competition/antitrust, and telecommunications regulations. Her practice also encompasses the labor and employment law issues that frequently accompany corporate investigations, and she is well-versed in the complexities of the Korean labor regime.

Johnny Hong
Foreign Attorney, Kim & Chang
Johnny Hong is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang. Johnny focuses his practice on a broad range of labor and employment matters across a variety of sectors. Johnny received a J.D. from Duke University, School of Law. He is admitted to the New York bar.

Deepa Ramachandran
Senior Leader, Labor Relations for Southeast Asia, India & China, Boeing
Deepa Ramachandran is the Senior Leader Labor Relations for SEA, India and China at Boeing. Prior to this she headed the Employee & Labor Relations departments for multinational companies such as Standard Chartered, AIA and Heineken. Deepa was also the HR Director for Alliance for Financial Inclusion, an International Organization.
