HRPA Advocates to Protect Employer Sponsored Care and Support Price Transparency

HR Policy Association called on Congress to enact meaningful transparency and pharmacy benefit manager reform and reject proposals to tax employer-sponsored health coverage. 

As part of a diverse group of organizations representing employers, HRPA urged Congress to: 

• Reject proposals that would tax employer-sponsored health care coverage and jeopardize the affordability and accessibility of health care for workers and their families. This letter comes in response to proposals to cap the employee tax exclusion for employer-provided health care benefits put forth by the Paragon Institute and Republican Study Committee. 

• Enact meaningful health care price transparency and pharmacy benefit manager reform so that employers can better control their health care spending. The letter supports the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act (H.R. 5378) and Pharmacy Benefit Manager Reform Act (S. 1339) which include appropriate reforms and would drive innovation, and promote competition and fair dealing in the health care system.
