What are the Changes: Earlier this year we shared with HR Policy Global members the implementation of the
New Zealand Fair Pay Agreements. Less than 6 months later, there is a strong likelihood that the incoming government will repeal the law. A range of additional labour regulations are also on the table for review, including the re-introduction of
90 day probationary periods for all employers. Other
possible changes include the introduction of restrictions surrounding reinstatement (as a remedy in the personal grievance process), and amendments to prevent contractors challenging their employment status.
