James Jones is Vice President Human Resources and Chief Ethics Officer at Emerson. In this role he provides leadership for many of the human resource functions, covering 85,000 Emerson employees in over 200 locations around the world. His areas of responsibility include Employee Relations, Benefits, Labor and Employment Law, Safety, HRIS, EEOC/AAP, Safety, Health and Medical, and Wage and Salary Administration.
James has over 30 years of human resources and labor relations experience at Emerson which has taken him to 5 states and 10 operations around the U.S. managing in many environments across this multi-national corporation. He began his career at Emerson in 1989 and has held many positions of increasing responsibility with many of Emerson’s business groups across Ohio, Mississippi, Colorado and Missouri. James most recently served as Group Vice President Human Resources for Emerson Network Power in Columbus, Ohio before taking his current role as Vice President Human Resources and Chief Ethics Officer at Emerson World Headquarters in November 2014.
James also serves on the Board of Directors for HR Policy Association in Washington, DC as well as the Executive Advisory Board of University of Missouri – St Louis. James also serves on the Oracle Chief Human Resource Advisory Council and supports United Way, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Gift of Adoption, and Parents Education Network (PEN).
James earned a BS in Business Management from the University of Evansville, Evansville, Indiana and is also a graduate of the Emerson Leadership Program.
