The Central Labour Ministry has officially recognized working from home for the service sector, and allowed the employers in the IT sector to decide the work hours for their employees. The Ministry has further declared any unauthorized access of the IT system of employer and customer as misconduct for the first time. Pursuant to section 29 of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the central government has published the draft model standing orders model relating to conditions of service for the manufacturing sector, mining sector and service sector.
