HR Policy Association and the American Health Policy Institute’s Mark Wilson was named one of Washington’s most influential people by Washingtonian Magazine. This is the third year that Mr. Wilson is listed as a leading voice in health care policy and regulation. Through his leadership, HR Policy has held a critical seat at the table for health care policy debates important to the business community.
Led by Mr. Wilson, HR Policy has worked with Congress and the White House on health care policy issues benefiting Members including:
- Enabling employers to continue providing first dollar coverage for telehealth services until the end of 2024;
- Stopping legislation that places civil monetary penalties on employers for mental health parity violations;
- Preventing higher dialysis costs for employer plans;
- Including funding for integrated care models like the Collaborative Care Model, a key step in preventing more serious behavioral health conditions and improving mental health access; and
- Increasing transparency in the prescription drug space to lower costs for employers.
Although Mark was recognized for his health policy leadership, he has also worked on behalf of HR Policy members in the labor and employment arena, focusing on affirmative action compliance for federal contractors, discrimination policy at the EEOC, and wage and hour and joint employer issues at the Labor Department.
