Michelle Swinden
Executive Director, Asia-Pacific, HR Policy Global
Michelle Swinden is the Executive Director, Asia-Pacific for CHRO Association, serving as the Association’s contact point for member companies in the Asia Pacific region. Michelle is based in Sydney, Australia.
Michelle has more than 25 years of human resources experience in a regional Asia Pacific and global capacity. Prior to joining HR Policy Global, Michelle worked for the IBM Corporation for more than 30 years. She has extensive experience in the management of Employee and Labour Relations in the Asia environment, as well as a deep understanding of the impact of global labour relations on multinational organisations. During her long career with IBM, Michelle held a variety of roles including Compensation and Benefits Manager for IBM Australia, Diversity and Inclusion Leader, Manager of Employee Concerns & Complex Employee Relations cases for Asia Pacific, and HR Executive for Employee and Labour Relations in Asia Pacific.
Michelle has a special interest in building and delivering enablement and information, allowing HR practitioners across all regions and functions of Human Resources to develop an understanding of the importance of effective employee and labour management. In addition, Michelle actively encourages companies to network and share their experiences, bringing an increased understanding of the challenges and solutions to building strong employee relations environments.
Michelle holds an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of New England, Australia, and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Deakin University, Australia. She is a CAHRI Member of the Australia Human Resources Institute.

Wenchao Dong
Senior Director, Global Practice and Policy, CHRO Association
Wen Dong joined CHRO Association in September of 2020. She currently leads HR Policy Global, a premium program for HR Policy members, providing information and insight on key international trends and developments. She is also responsible for member engagement and research.
Prior to HR Policy, she was the International Labor Relations Manager for Walmart, where she specialized in global employee and labor relations. Her other experience includes various HR positions with TRW Automotive in Detroit and PetroChina in China. She received her degree of Master Public Administration from the University of Louisville.
Adam Salter
Partner-in-Charge, Perth & Head of Labor & Employment Practice in Australia, Jones Day
Adam Salter is the Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Perth Office and also heads up the Labor & Employment Practice in Australia.
Adam has more than 25 years of cross-border experience advising clients on Australian employment contracts and policies (including equity and non-equity compensation plans) and provides advice regarding executive hiring and dismissal, statutory entitlements, industrial instruments (including Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements), termination of employment, redundancy programs, drafting and enforcing post-employment restraints, secondments, personal data and privacy security, and transfer of business issues.
Adam also regularly assists clients with statutory and contractual data privacy issues relating to the collection, disclosure, and protection of personal information and cybersecurity issues (including mandatory data breach notification requirements). He has more than a decade of dedicated experience advising clients on Australian and cross-border private treaty mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, strategic alliances, outsourcing, distribution, supply, licensing, and other general commercial contracts, with a particular focus on the information technology and electronic payment sectors.
Adam is a regular presenter at local and international labor and employment and cybersecurity conferences.
Yuichiro Mori
Partner, Jones Day
As a highly experienced international lawyer, Yuichiro Mori acts as bridge between Japanese corporations and foreign corporations and facilitates various global transactions. Yuichiro has counseled clients in international and domestic commercial transactions and in international and domestic dispute resolutions for more than 25 years. His experience covers a wide range of matters, including restructurings, M&A, buyouts, and joint ventures, in a variety of industries and jurisdictions. He is frequently appointed by the Tokyo District Court as a bankruptcy trustee. Yuichiro also has served as the Tokyo Office administrative partner since 2015.
Yuichiro represents debtors, creditors, distressed investors, and other stakeholders in insolvency proceedings in a variety of industries. His experience includes the corporate reorganization of Asyst Technologies Japan, as Japanese counsel to the Taiwanese customer; the bankruptcy of Kosugi Sangyo K.K., as Japanese counsel to the licensor for Golden Bear; the civil rehabilitation proceedings of Lehman Brothers Japan, as Japanese counsel to the ultimate parent company of Lehman Brothers Group as creditor; and the chapter 11 proceedings of Lyondell Chemical, as advisor to Sumitomo Chemical, a joint venture partner in Japan. He also successfully led the workout of a Japanese consumer finance company in a ¥43 billion debt restructuring involving 15 commercial banks.
Yuichiro is a member of the Japanese Bar Association, the Dai-ichi Bar Association, and the Nationwide Lawyers Network for Insolvency Proceedings.

Miyuki Jimbo
Senior Director, Human Resources – Japan & Guam, Marriott International
Miyuki Jimbo is Senior Director of Human Resources for Japan & Guam at Marriott International, based in Tokyo. Since July 2018, she has served as Area Director of Human Resources for Japan & Guam, leading human resources strategy across the company’s operations in the region for more than eight years.
Before joining Marriott, Jimbo spent nearly twelve years at IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan. She was appointed Director, Human Resources, Japan in September 2011, a role she held for close to seven years, having joined the company in December 2006 as Manager, Talent Development, Japan, a position she held for almost five years.
Across two decades in hospitality human resources, Jimbo has built her career across both of Japan’s major international hotel groups, with experience spanning talent development and senior human resources leadership across multi-market operations in Japan and Guam.
