Spencer Milus, RN has 28 years of experience in clinical care, healthcare payer systems, vendor solutions, and employer consulting. Her expertise spans whole health strategy, advocacy and navigation, third-party vendor solutions, employee health programs, condition and case management, occupational health, workers' compensation, onsite clinics, and telemedicine.
Currently, Spencer serves as the Vice President at Visana Health focusing on expanding the women 's comprehensive health movement through business development with large employers and in partnership with payers. Recently the Clinical Practice Lead & Growth Lead at Risk Strategies Consulting, Spencer led a team of clinicians supporting medical, pharmacy, and whole health solutions, as well as a focus on business development. Previously, she was VP of Whole Health Advocacy Strategy at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, prior to that she was the Director of Business Development for Anthem’s Labor & Trust division and was also the Director of Sales for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s proprietary telehealth solution, LiveHealth Online. She also co-founded and led Verve Health, an onsite clinic company, and founded and owned Milus & Company, an onsite clinic consulting firm. Her past leadership roles extend to Vice President of Employer Services for Community Health Network. Prior to Community Health Network, Spencer spent 6 years leading Anthem’s clinical precertification utilization management call centers. Prior to Anthem, Spencer was also an ICU Nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.
Spencer serves on the Health Occupations Students of America 100 International Advisory Council (HOSA), the National Institute on Wellness Advisory Board and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida Board. She volunteers for Warrior PATHH, offering equine therapy for veterans with PTSD. Previously, she co-chaired Indiana’s Workplace Wellness Initiative with Governor Mitch Daniels and held board positions with Visiting Nurse Services, the Indiana 4-H Foundation, and was a founding member of the Women of Impact Community Foundation of Boone County, Indiana.
A graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, affiliated with St. Joseph College, Spencer is married, has 2 children and enjoys spending family time at home on her horse farm in Florida.
